What is included in an edit?

Copy Editing services: This includes but is not limited to, correcting grammar, spelling,

punctuation, and syntax. Any errors in sentence structure and language usage will also be addressed.  Any issues with factual statements will be addressed. I will also make sure that any discrepancies in the internal consistency of your work are addressed. This includes making sure your plot, character traits and settings don't have consistency or continuity errors.

Line editing services: Developmental suggestions designed to improve the story's overall plot, clarity, character development, and dialogue will be addressed. Text that is repetitive or extraneous will also be brought to your attention. I will bring to your attention any dialogue or text that can be tightened. Any areas where your meaning as an author doesn't come through due to bad transitions will be fixed. I will bring to your attention any areas where passages don't read well due to bland language use or other reasons. I will offer suggestions on words or phrases that will enhance or clarify your meaning in dialogue as well as main passages. I will offer suggestions for changes that will improve the pacing of your work.

My Process

I use Office 365 Personal for my edits. I use the track changes tool to keep track of all changes I make. I will also put ideas and things I think need changed in bubbles off to the side. I offer 2 rounds of editing for the rate listed. I will complete the first round of edits and submit that to the client for revision. For the second round of edits I will fine tune and final proofread, to make sure the manuscript is ready for publishing. A third round of edits is available at half the price of your first two rounds.
